The endgame is set for a broadcast series that has been a dominant force at the Emmys over its long run. ABC announced a pickup for the comedy series “Modern Family” for an 11th season, which will be the show’s last.

The series has been nominated a stunning 81 times for Primetime Emmy Awards, winning 22 Emmys, including being named Outstanding Comedy Series five years in a row, from 2010-2014.

In announcing the news, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke promised: “In its final season, there will be more milestone events that anyone who has been a fan of the series won’t want to miss.”

Added co-creator and executive producer Steve Levitan: “Even after 10 years together, we realized there are still some things our writers don’t yet know about each other’s sex lives.”
