Another Fox News Host Targeted Over Comments

Mar 13, 2019  •  Post A Comment

In the same week when Jeanine Pirro of Fox News has generated headlines over comments she made about Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, another Fox News host, Tucker Carlson, has become the focus of a controversy over his past remarks.

“The liberal advocacy group Media Matters for America this week released two batches of recordings Carlson made as a guest on radio’s ‘Bubba the Love Sponge Show’ between 2006 and 2011, before he worked at Fox,” the AP reports. “The release was timed to coincide with Fox’s meeting with advertisers on Wednesday.”

The report adds: “In the tapes, Carlson made remarks minimizing statutory rape, used sexist slurs to refer to specific women and referred to Iraq as ‘a crappy place filled with a bunch of, you know, semiliterate primitive monkeys.’”

Carlson is standing his ground, responding to the release by attacking Media Matters and vowing that “we will never bow to the mob,” the AP reports. The report quotes Carlson saying that “it’s pointless to try to explain how the words were spoken in jest, or taken out of context, or in any case bear no resemblance to what you actually think.”

Here’s a clip posted by CBS News that includes audio of some of Carlson’s comments …

  1. So Liberal media can (and does) comment any way and any time they like on any number of subjects but the Conservative media is to remain silent. Rather Hitlerish don’t you think. Speaking a truth goes both ways, we are free to speak our thoughts right out loud because that is what America is ALL about unless you are a Republican Conservative Common Sense type person. We live in a fantastic time. We have freedoms never afforded before and our lives are our own. Stop the hate. We all have opinions. If it offends you ( the greatest worst word in history) GET OVER IT.

    • What the hell are you talking about? If you are a public figure, you will be held accountable for dumb things you say. Get over the victim attitude. It wouldn’t matter if it was conservative or liberal. Division much? Who would stand by someone saying this crap? Ugly.

  2. Susan, what you’re describing and (rightly) railing against is totalitarianism.

It’s home is on the Left. They will abide no break with the orthodoxy they have decided. You are free to have your say, so long as it is in 100 percent compliance with the great progressive “thinkers.”

These are The New Totalitarians and this is how they roll. They will not stop voluntarily.

  3. It is funny that right-wing apologists always reverse the truth to state that the left is pushing towards totalitarianism and oligarchy when it has become obvious that the right is the largest proponent for tyranny, fascism and the elimination of Democracy. Just look at Sen. Mitchell McConnell’s efforts to eliminate new laws allowing voter rights across the country. Tucker Carlson and others like him rail against political correctness and not being able to say what they want to say. Translation…they object to being chastised because they are vocal racists, misogynists and just plain old jerks.

  5. Tim, no offense meant but you sound like a jerk. I’m just saying…
