Matt Lauer, who has been keeping a low profile since he was fired by NBC in 2017, resurfaced for his former boss Jeff Zucker’s 54th birthday party, The New York Post’s Page Six reports.
Zucker, who now oversees CNN, was once Lauer’s executive producer at NBC’s “Today.” Zucker celebrated his birthday Saturday at the McKittrick Hotel, The Post reports.
“The CNN chief hosted at the hip space’s new ‘Speakeasy Magick’ show, hosted by ‘master deceptionist’ Todd Robbins,” The Post reports. “We’re told that Lauer joined the group, who had a ‘great time’ and ‘a lot of laughs.’”
The report adds: “Lauer, meanwhile, is going through a lengthy divorce from his second wife, Annette Roque, following allegations of his sexual misconduct at NBC. We’re told that proceedings are still ongoing after Lauer and Roque both changed legal reps mid-divorce.”
