Rapper Snoop Dogg spoke today at a memorial for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he fired up the audience with a speech that included a message about unity among the city’s rival gangs.

Hussle, who grew up in the Crenshaw neighborhood of South Los Angeles, was a member of a subgroup of the Crips gang, later becoming a community activist. He had been working to help prevent gang violence in South Los Angeles before he was fatally shot on March 31.
