Barack and Michelle Obama took the wraps off a slate of projects today that are in the works from their production company Higher Ground.

The company’s initial slate, which will be exclusive to Netflix, will kick off with “American Factory,” a documentary from Oscar-nominated filmmakers Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert. The film is set in Ohio, where a Chinese billionaire opens a new factory in an abandoned General Motors plant and hires 2,000 blue-collar U.S. workers.

Other projects include the upstairs/downstairs drama series “Bloom”; a feature filme adaptation of author David W. Blight’s “Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom”; the preschool series “Listen to Your Vegetables & Eat Your Parents; the nonfiction series “Fifth Risk”; and the feature-length documentary “Crip Camp.”

“We created Higher Ground to harness the power of storytelling. That’s why we couldn’t be more excited about these projects,” President Obama said. “Touching on issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more, we believe each of these productions won’t just entertain, but will educate, connect, and inspire us all.”
