The May sweeps period, running April 25-May 22, will see one drama series conspicuously absent from the prime-time schedule at NBC. Variety reports that “Blindspot” has been pulled from the schedule.
“According to NBC’s updated schedule, the series will not air in its normal Friday 8 p.m timeslot beginning tonight and continuing May 3-17, with the show returning on May 24 and May 31 for the final episodes of its fourth season,” Variety reports.
“The Blacklist” will air in instead, moving up an hour from its usual 9 p.m. slot, with the season six finale of “The Blacklist” scheduled for May 17.
“The news comes as ‘Blindspot’ is still awaiting word on whether or not it will be renewed for a fifth season at the broadcaster,” Variety notes, adding: “Though nothing is official yet, the move does not bode well for the future of the drama series.”
The report notes that the series has been averaging a modest 0.9 rating in adults 18-49 in Nielsen Live+7 data this season.
