One familiar face is headed out the door at the CBS daytime chat staple “The Talk,” and another one will take her place.

As we reported last month, Sara Gilbert is leaving the program, with her last show scheduled for Aug. 2. CBS announced today that she will be replaced by Marie Osmond.

The show will launch its 10th season in the fall, with Osmond scheduled to take her seat in September. The singer has guest co-hosted on the program in the past.

Osmond released a statement saying: “After guest co-hosting and appearing as a guest on the show throughout the years, I am thrilled to now call this my day job. I look forward to working with Sharon, Sheryl, Eve and Carrie Ann, who are such smart, strong, talented women whom I immensely respect. I cannot wait to share this exciting new chapter with the viewers and the CBS family.”

The move comes on the heels of last month’s announcement that Osmond and her brother Donny are about to wrap up their residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino after 11 years, with their last show scheduled for Nov. 16.
