Long-Running ‘SNL’ Rift May Be Over

A rift between two prominent former “Saturday Night Live” cast members that has been getting in the way for years may be over.

During an appearance today on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, Dana Carvey talked about a problem that arose between him and his “Wayne’s World” partner Mike Myers, with Carvey indicating that he’s over it.

Pressed by Stern to talk about any tension between the two men over Myers’ alleged appropriation of Carvey’s Lorne Michaels impression — which became Myers’ “Dr. Evil” in the “Austin Powers” movies — Carvey admitted that he originated the impression, right down to the pinky finger to the mouth.

Carvey said he never confronted Myers about the issue, but added: “I talked about it to the therapist.” Carvey also said, “I basically let it go.”

Carvey offered plenty of praise for Myers, adding, “I was very lucky to intersect with Mike Myers.”

Here’s a clip posted by Stern’s show in which Carvey opens up about the incident …
