Veteran media executive Sheila Nevins, who left HBO last year after 38 years with the pay-cable channel, has her next job lined up. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Nevins is joining MTV, where she will launch its new MTV Studios division MTV Documentary Films.

“In her new role, Nevins will develop documentary films and specials for third-party streaming services, premium networks and MTV platforms,” THR reports. “She will oversee the division and look for projects from a new generation of filmmakers that explore the social, political and cultural trends and stories that are important to young people.”

Nevins is quoted saying: “MTV has always been at the forefront of youth culture, and the generation that is growing up now will change the world in ways we can’t even imagine. I’m excited to join MTV with electrifying stories that explore the crises and commitments that young people face every day.”

Here’s an interview clip featuring Nevins from 2017 that offers some insights into her background …
