Emmy-Winning David E. Kelley Series Returns This Weekend — Here’s What’s in Store

One of the most buzzworthy shows of the past few years returns this weekend for season two, and HBO is helping viewers get ready for the return of David E. Kelley’s Emmy-winning “Big Little Lies” by releasing a ton of background info on the show.

Created by Kelley, the show’s high-powered cast features Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, with Meryl Streep joining the festivities for season two. Also among those in the lineup are Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz and Alexander Skarsgard.

Season two launches Sunday, June 9, on HBO, and will consist of seven episodes. All of the episodes are directed and executive produced by Andrea Arnold and feature teleplays by Kelley.

The series is based on the bestselling novel by Liane Moriarty, and is executive produced by Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, David E. Kelley, Andrea Arnold, Jean-Marc Vallée, Bruna Papandrea, Per Saari, Gregg Fienberg, Nathan Ross And Liane Moriarty.
