Animation Overload for Cable Channel

Jul 8, 2019  •  Post A Comment

The latest programming moves at one cable channel have the outlet in animation overload, according to an announcement today from Adult Swim.

The channel, which is a top destination for young adults, says it’s continuing its investment in creator-driven animated content. Adult Swim announced renewals for “Mr. Pickles,” “Ballmastrz: 9009” and “Tigtone,” along with the season 12 return of “Squidbillies” on Sunday, Aug. 11.

Additionally, Toonami is adding all-new “gen:LOCK” to the network’s popular anime-obsessed lineup. The mecha-anime-style series from Rooster Teeth will make its premiere on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The network noted that the return of “Squidbillies” for season 12 is expected to “heal the growing divide in this nation with inbred mountain hijinks. The new season features all new covers of the theme song from artists such as Shooter Jennings, Shannon Shaw & Dan Auerbach, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and more.”
