Some familiar faces on CNN will be the moderators of a two-night series of debates among the Democratic presidential candidates later this month. The cable channel announced that it has tapped Dana Bash, Jake Tapper and Don Lemon for the high-profile roles.

Twenty candidates, split across two nights, will be eligible to participate. The debates are scheduled for July 30 and 31 in Detroit.

“The media venues for these events are determined by the Democratic National Committee, but are shaping up to be massive generators of ratings for the networks that show them,” Variety reports. “More than 15 million people tuned in for a broadcast of the first of two debates across NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo, and nearly 18.1 million viewers tuned in for a second night.”

CNN said it will notify the 20 participants of their eligibility on July 17, and will hold a live draw on the air on July 18 to determine the candidate lineups for the two nights.

  1. Well, SOMEONE should comment RE: Don Lemon. I think most “honest” people would not be in favor of Fox News assigning Sean Hannity as one of their debate moderators. And it was beyond a joke when MSNBC tabbed the “queen of the tinfoil hat brigade” Rachel Maddow to be a “moderator” for their debates.
And Rachel didn’t disappoint by going way of the deep end into Mueller/Russian Collusion conspiracy theories. Even the New York Times has banned their reporters from going on her show because she’s deeply infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Well, the New York Times has done the SAME THING to Don Lemon’s show because HE’S a nutcase. And there he will be, “moderating” the Dem. debate.
