Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges, a seven-time Academy Award nominee best known for his work in feature films such as “The Last Picture Show,” “Starman,” “Crazy Heart,” “True Grit,” “Tron,” The Fabulous Baker Boys” and “The Big Lebowski,” is headed to the small screen with his first series regular role.
FX announced a straight-to-series order for “The Old Man,” in which Bridges will star as Dan Chase, a former CIA agent who has been living off the grid for decades. The project is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Thomas Perry.
“The Old Man” is written by Jon Steinberg & Robert Levine, and executive produced by Warren Littlefield, Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Levine, Bridges and David Schiff. It’s produced by Fox 21 Television Studios in association with The Littlefield Company.
