Shockingly Violent Brawl at Disneyland’s Toontown Goes Viral; Raises Question of Security

“A family fight that turned violent in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland over the weekend is being investigated by Anaheim police on Monday after video of the brawl was posted to social media,” reports a story on the website of Los Angeles TV station KTLA.

The story adds, “The Anaheim Police Department said everyone involved in the fight belonged to the same family and that they were uncooperative when officers responded to the scene. The family members were standing near Goofy’s Playhouse on Saturday when a man and a woman pushing a stroller with two children in it became embroiled in a heated argument, according to the nearly 4 1/2-minute video posted to YouTube on Sunday. The posting of the video online is what spurred detectives to continue the investigation, police said.”

We have embedded a video of the altercation, below. Please be warned that it is violent and contains graphic language. Kids who are witnessing the fight can be heard crying.

The story adds, “…roughly 3 1/2 minutes into the video Disneyland security personnel arrive at the scene. It’s unclear how much time elapsed between the time the incident was reported and when they got there.”

Disneyland has yet to officially respond to concerns that it took security too long to stop the brawl.

Earlier today the official Disneyland Today twitter account tweeted:

“In response to Guests’ concerns regarding the altercation at Disneyland––any type of violence is inexcusable and will not be tolerated. Those involved were immediately removed from the premises and turned over to @AnaheimPD. http://di.sn/6011EQlHl

  1. Thanks Obama !

  2. What does Obama have to do with this? That is an outrageous and offensive statement!

  3. Goofy and Pluto would have done a better job at calming the situation than park security. Now how funny would that have been?

  4. Why hasn’t this been in the national news? Afraid it will hurt the black community.

  5. Howard posts the question “why hasn’t this been in national news?”…on a national news site.

  6. This was on the national news if you consider CNN’s HLN national news. They ran it a number of time this morning on “Morning Express”. That is where I saw it. Also, for those who are trying to turn this into some type of racial issue, remember Glenn Horlacher? In 2012, he attacked Disney Park security and was pepper sprayed. He was Caucasian. And there was a video released of his incident.
