An actress who has been a regular on a string of major TV series was arrested over the weekend on drug charges.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sonja Sohn “was arrested just after midnight on Sunday in Manteo, North Carolina, and cited for felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia, according to Major Jeff Deringer, spokesman for the Dare County Sheriff’s Office.”
Sohn is a regular on the Showtime series “The Chi,” and is well-known for her roles on shows including HBO’s “The Wire,” in which she played Det. Shakima “Kima” Greggs, and ABC’s “Body of Proof,” where Sohn was Det. Samantha Baker.
She has also had recurring roles on shows including “Cold Case,” “Burn Notice,” “The Originals” and “Luke Cage.”
THR reports that drugs and paraphernalia were allegedly found in Sohn’s purse during a traffic stop. She was released on $1,500 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
Following her work in the Baltimore-based series “The Wire,” Sohn founded and became the CEO of a Baltimore community initiative, ReWired for Change. The outreach program aims to rehabilitate at-risk youth involved in criminal activity.
