The final session on the final day of the Television Critics Association summer press tour brought out the emotions as Ted Danson and others talked about the fourth and final season of NBC’s “The Good Place,” which premieres Sept. 26.
Danson is nominated for an Emmy for his lead role on the offbeat show, which is also up for Outstanding Comedy Series and two other Emmys. An emotional Danson, along with show creator Michael Schur, offered up the acclaimed series as evidence that broadcast networks can still make bold, challenging comedies.
Also on tap during the NBC presentation were “Cash Pad,” “Perfect Harmony,” “Sunnyside” and “Bluff City Law,” which puts “L.A. Law” graduate Jimmy Smits back in the role of attorney.
