A project in the works for ABC will mark the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack with a limited series adapting the bestselling book “Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11.”

Academy Award-winning producer and screenwriter Mark Boal, best known for penning the screenplays for “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Hurt Locker,” is set to adapt Mitchell Zuckoff’s Harper Collins book.

Due in 2021, the series will be produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment, and executive produced by Erwin Stoff and Richard Abate of 3 Arts along with Zuckoff. Boal will also executive produce.

“Zuckoff’s ‘Fall and Rise’ chronicles the stories of those who were lost, saved and forever altered by the most heinous acts of terrorism on American soil,” ABC says in today’s announcement. “The television adaptation will attempt to be a portrait of American resilience in the face of tragedy and an accounting of 9/11’s aftermath decades later.”

  1. Funny, the dog (Bear who has a memorial at the FDNY/EMS Academy) who found FDNY chief of department Peter Ganci and Commissioner William Feehan and so many of the victims will not be covered in this ‘history’ of the WTC neither will Cate Jenkins the lead EPA Scientist who exposed the Hazmat cover-ups by Rudy Giuliani in a joint FBI/EPA investigation.

‘History’ is written by the victors and is often not the truth and only the truth will keep citizens alive!
