A film premiering this weekend on CNN examines the life of a man whose achievements in the ’60s and ’70s brought him riches, acclaim and fame but who history has largely forgotten. “Halston,” premiering Sunday, Aug. 25, focuses on the visionary American fashion designer born Roy Halston Frowick, whose cuttting-edge concepts reflected the radical changes going on in U.S. society at the time and continue to influence today’s trends.

TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin got the story behind the feature documentary in an interview with its producer and director Frédéric Tcheng — please click here to read it and to see a trailer for the film.
