Jeff Zucker, the President of CNN, Is Reportedly a Candidate for a Top Media Industry CEO Job

Sep 24, 2019  •  Post A Comment

“Jeff Zucker’s meteoric rise in the media industry may not be over yet,” reports Dylan Byers a senior media reporter for NBC News.

Byers’ story continues, “Zucker, the president of CNN, is now the leading — if not the only — internal candidate being considered to become chief executive of WarnerMedia, the new conglomeration owned by AT&T that includes Warner Bros., HBO and Turner Broadcasting, according to five high-level WarnerMedia sources. He is currently the head of news and sports for WarnerMedia.”

Zucker would replace John Stankey, who might become CEO of AT&T itself.

Later in his report Byers writes, “Selecting Zucker to lead WarnerMedia would present significant risks for AT&T, both because he had a troubled tenure at NBCUniversal and because of his relationship with President Donald Trump, all five sources said.”

  1. Jeff “The Demolition Man” Zucker.

    Failing up.

    • Exactly right. He belongs as the morning show producer at a sub 50 market….contemptible.

  2. Peter Principle at it’s best!

  3. After the outstanding job he’s done at CNN (can’t even beat the Cartoon Network in ratings for Pete’s sake) a promotion makes perfect sense !!
