What the ‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Told the Judge About Felicity Huffman in College Admissions Case

Marc Cherry, the creator of “Desperate Housewives,” provided information to the judge presiding over the college admissions cheating case involving one of the former stars of Cherry’s show, Felicity Huffman.

Deadline reports that Cherry provided a letter of support for Huffman, recalling an instance when the actress demonstrated what Cherry called “a master class on human compassion’ as she worked with an older guest star who was having trouble remembering lines.

“The letter’s public airing follows last week’s reveal of a similar courtroom missive written by ‘Housewives’ co-star Eva Longoria in which she told of Huffman’s behind-the-scenes support and kindness when Longoria was being ‘bullied’ by another (and unidentified) ‘Housewives’ co-star,” Deadline reports.

The report notes that Cherry and Longoria are among 27 people, including Huffman’s husband, actor William H. Macy, who have provided letters of support for Huffman as she awaits sentencing.

“The actress has pleaded guilty to mail fraud after paying $15,000 to increase her daughter’s SAT score,” Deadline notes. “Federal prosecutors are recommending she be sentenced to one month in prison, but her attorneys have asked for a year’s probation, community service and a $20,000 fine. She’ll be sentenced on September 13 in Boston.”

  1. I have had the pleasure of working with Huffman. She treated everyone from the bottom to the top with great respect and kindness.

Although I believe her entitled rich illegal idiotic decisions should be punished, I think the way schools accept students and the validity of the acceptance process should be reviewed and scrutinized. To think one mother wouldn’t do anything they could to get their child the best is ridiculous. She should serve her time but the ability to do what she did is what should be blowing up the press.

    • You’re out of your fking mind. This bich should be in prison like any other person who paid even $1 as part of a scam. Don’t blame the schools and their acceptance process. SHE created her own con game the day she wrote a check to have some dirt bag adjust her kid’s scores.

And I am tired of aholes like you blaming the media SHE WROTE THE DAMN CHECK!!! You are just like the aholes that blame the media for what Trump says and does. The media ONLY reports what people do and this whole scam needed to be exposed and these people need to go to jail.

Dis bich should be in a gddam cell.

Tired of these Hollywood aholes (and I happen to be one) getting away with everything and people making excuses for the.

I hope her career is done!

    • That’s insane.

“To think one mother wouldn’t do anything they could to get their child the best is ridiculous.”

You forgot to add “within the law,” and that’s what’s key here.

  2. If you are going to go on a tirade of rude language, at least have the courtesy to look up how to spell the nasty language you are using, This isn’t Twitter.
