News surfaced today that a series that has received critical acclaim was renewed and canceled at the same time. The series is the comedic Netflix drama “Dear White People,” which was renewed for a fourth season — which will be the show’s last.
The series initially was a lightning rod for controversy, with some observers suggesting on social media that it was offensive to white people while others called for a boycott of Netflix. But as the show’s first three seasons rolled out — the third season was released Aug. 2 — the show has generally received positive reviews, including a 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes for season two.
