‘Loveless Marriage’ Guy Explains Viral ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Rant

Oct 18, 2019  •  Post A Comment

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant whose surprising introduction went viral has become an instant celebrity and is making the rounds explaining what he said.

Blair Davis shocked viewers when he said he has been “trapped in a loveless marriage for the last 12 years to an old battle-ax named Kim.” He added: “She cursed my life with three stepchildren, named Star, RJ and Ryan, and I have one rotten grandson.”

The intro set off an Internet frenzy, with social media users mostly praising it with comments like “Finally, someone was truthful” and declarations that the intro was the “best of all time.”

“It was a hit at home, too,” The New York Post reports, quoting Davis’ wife, Kim, saying: “I already knew it was coming. Everybody [at home] laughed.”

Host Pat Sajak seemed momentarily stunned by the intro, but rolled with it — and Blair Davis quickly came clean and confessed that he was joking, as we reported earlier this week.

The Post reports that the couple routinely kid each other at home, quoting Kim saying the “battle-ax” quip is “one of the nicer” names they call each other.

“Blair added that he and Kim see ‘how politically correct [contestants] are for their loved ones’ on the show, so he wanted to be ‘a little more realistic,'” The Post adds, quoting Blair saying: “My wife is extremely intelligent and really beautiful. I’m lucky to have her.”

  1. One of the biggest non-stories of the century. Anybody who could not see right off the bat that the guy was joking needs a medical examination. The show was taped months ago – it would have been edited had the guy been serious and not properly vetted in advance. Just another PR person’s attempt at keeping “Wheel of Fortune” relevant after so many years. A total waste of time.

  2. Looks like the PR worked however

  3. Thought it was hilarious especially since I watch The Wheel faithfully & know filmed way before we see it. Family already knew. Come on people , can’t you take a joke anymore ever? Most calming , fun 30 minutes on TV.
