A new one-hour “I Love Lucy” holiday special is ready for prime time, with CBS announcing today that the program, which will feature two episodes of the classic sitcom, will be televised Friday, Dec. 20, from 8-9 p.m. ET/PT.
The show will include “The Christmas Episode” and “Paris at Last,” which has been newly colorized.
CBS said the two episodes will be “seamlessly combined,” with one set of main titles and end credits to run at the beginning and end of the hour.
“I Love Lucy” Christmas specials have aired on the network for the past six years, with each special combining the holiday-themed episode with a different comedy classic. Beginning in 2015, “The Christmas Episode” has been shown colorized in its entirety, with fully colorized flashback scenes that had previously been presented in black and white.
“The Christmas Episode” first aired on CBS on Christmas Eve 1956.
