‘Will & Grace’ Actress Dies

An actress who was best known for her role on “Will & Grace,” who also had a memorable role on the 1960s ABC sitcom “The Flying Nun,” has died. Shelley Morrison, who played maid Rosario Salazar from 1999-2006 on NBC’s “Will & Grace,” died Sunday, according to media reports.

Morrison, who was born Rachel Mitrani in the South Bronx, reportedly died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from heart failure. She was 83.

On “The Flying Nun,” Morrison played Sister Sixto, who continuously mangled the English language.

Her long acting career included work in feature films along with many television appearances spanning five decades. She had a recurring role on “General Hospital” and made guest appearances on “The Fugitive,” “Dr. Kildare,” “Gunsmoke,” “My Favorite Martian,” “Laredo,” “The Partridge Family,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Columbo,” “L.A. Law” and many other shows.
