Even though Simon Cowell is gone from "American Idol," the television show remains at the top, at least when it comes to ad prices, reports Brian Steinberg in Advertising Age. Click here to read the entire story, as well as the COMPLETE CHART of ad pricing for each broadcast primetime series for the fall season.

Despite Cowell’s departure and a 9% decline in viewers between 18 to 49, the show remains the most expensive program on TV, Steinberg writes. "Idol" is receiving an average of $467,617 per 30-second ad on Tuesday night and $400,546 per 30-second ad on Wednesday’s weekly results show, according to AdAge’s annual television pricing survey.

Fox, helped as well by musical drama "Glee," is dominating this year’s list of top-dollar programs, airing half of the top 10 most expensive shows for the 2010-11 season, the article says.

  1. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
