Now that the Emmys’ look back is out of the way the focus shifts tonight to the immediate future of television and what the fall season will bring. No fewer than 60 season premieres and series premieres are on tap just this week, TVLine.com reports.

Tonight’s lineup is especially high-stakes for some networks, with the eagerly anticipated premiere of a retooled “Two and a Half Men” set for 9 p.m. on CBS and the roast of that show’s former star, Charlie Sheen, on tap at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Among tonight’s other key telecasts: Season 13 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” launches at 8 p.m., with a lineup of new celebs and quasi-celebs. NBC fights back in the same time slot with “The Sing-Off.” CBS shows up with a new season of “How I Met Your Mother,” with back-to-back episodes to kick things off. On Fox it’s a wrap rather than a launch: A two-hour season finale of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

Attention in the 9 p.m. hour will be largely focused on the new “Men” on CBS, where Ashton Kutcher replaces Sheen. That should give a nice bump to CBS’s 9:30 launch of “2 Broke Girls.” Watch for the second halves of some of those two-hour programs on the other networks to feel a shudder.

NBC’s controversial “The Playboy Club” premieres tonight at 10 p.m., the same slot where ABC has its season premiere of “Castle.” CBS counters with “Hawaii Five-0.” On cable in the same hour, timely programming includes the Sheen roast on Comedy Central and E!’s “Fashion Police: The Primetime Emmy Awards.”
