Belo Names Berman VP/GM at WVEC-TV

Jim Berman has been named VP and general manager of WVEC-TV, Belo Corp.’s ABC affiliate in Hampton-Norfolk, Va. Mr. Berman’s tenure will begin Aug. 4.

He had been VP and general manager of WHP-TV and WLYH-TV, the Newport Television Partners-owned CBS and CW affiliates, respectively, in Harrisburg, Pa., since November 2006.

“Jim has delivered remarkable results throughout his career, most recently at WHP and WLYH,” Katy Clements, senior VP of Belo television operations, said in the announcement Wednesday. “We are confident that Jim will continue WVEC’s longstanding success in the Hampton/Norfolk market.”
