11th-Hour Agreement Saves Thanksgiving Football for Some Viewers

An agreement reached late Tuesday has saved Thanksgiving football viewing for some TV viewers. The Los Angeles Times reports that CBS Corp. and Dish Network agreed on another short-term extension of the deadline for their contract negotiations, ensuring that Dish subscribers who want to watch the Chicago Bears-Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving won’t miss out.

It was the second contract extension since last Thursday, when the contract expired. CBS stations in 14 markets, including Los Angeles and Detroit, would be affected if CBS goes dark on Dish.

The new extension “suggests the two sides are making slow but steady progress at the bargaining table,” the Times reported.
