The creator and executive producer of reality shows including “Extreme Makeover” and “Dating Naked” has died. Deadline.com reports that Howard Schultz, the founder and CEO of Lighthearted Entertainment, died unexpectedly Monday while on vacation with his family in Hawaii. He was 61.

Schultz founded Lighthearted Entertainment in 1992, with the company recently developing and executive producing shows such as “Are You the One” for MTV and “Dating Naked” for VH1.

“VH1 is heartbroken to hear of Howard’s passing. Howard was a wonderful man, a true partner and a visionary producer. We will miss him,” the network said in a statement.

Last month he sold the reality competition series “Twinning,” which is about 12 sets of twins challenged to pass tests of the types of behaviors that twins are said to have, such as feeling each other’s pain and finishing each other’s sentences.
