Disney, Miramax and Sony on Board for Rollout of New Comedy-Focused Broadcast Net

With its launch set for next month, a number of major film studios have signed licensing deals with the new broadcast network Laff, which owner Katz Broadcasting is billing as “the country’s first-ever, over-the-air broadcast television network devoted to comedy.”

The company today announced deals with Sony Pictures Television, The Walt Disney Studios and Miramax, bringing an array of high profile movies to the network, including “Jerry Maguire,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” “Splash,” “Clerks” and many other titles.

The network is set to launch April 15.
