The Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert-anchored “Indecision 2008: America’s Choice,” which aired live last night, became the highest-rated and most-watched special in Comedy Central’s “Indecision” political series.
Capping the special with the live announcement of Sen. Barack Obama winning the presidency, “America’s Choice” brought in 3.1 million viewers, 45% higher than the series’ 2004 “Prelude to a Recount” special.
“Choice” also drew a 1.9 rating in the adults 18- to 49-year-old demographic, 47% above the show’s 2004 pre-election special.
“The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” have enjoyed record ratings on the back of satirizing the election, with “Daily” and “Colbert” earning their most-watched episodes on Oct. 29, when Sen. Obama appeared via satellite on “The Daily Show.” The appearance brought in 3.6 million viewers for “The Daily Show.”
