Another Superhero on Tap at CW

The CW, which has successfully mined superhero terrain before, is apparently ready to go there again. After having a good run with “Smallville,” which ended last year, the network is close to a pilot order for "Arrow," a new take on the story of superhero Green Arrow, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog.

Writing partners Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, who worked on the "Green Lantern" film, are attached to executive produce and write the project with "Fringe" co-executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, the story says.

This isn’t the first time Green Arrow will be featured on the CW. The character was played by Justin Hartley for a number of seasons on "Smallville," although Hartley isn’t attached to "Arrow," the piece notes.

  1. They’re probably looking at using the revamped Green Arrow that DC’s introduced in their latest “52” sales stunt. Add the people who made that cluster#@$! Green Lantern film and you’ve got a recipe for total disaster.
