A 19th century take on Dracula has been given a "script-to-series" commitment at NBC, which means that the project could skip the pilot stage and go directly to series if NBC executives approve, reports Deadline.com.

The project, set in the 1890s, is described as “Dangerous Liaisons” meets “The Tudors,” the story says. Coming from producers Tony Krantz and Colin Callender and writer Cole Haddon, the project is being considered for both the U.S. TV market and the international market, the piece adds.

  1. Typical of NBC to be late to the Party. The Vampire thing has been done on TV in the family style CW’s Vampire Diaries and adult Style HBO’s True Blood.
