NBC signed “The Fast and the Furious” writer Gary Scott Thompson as showrunner and executive producer for the network’s updated version of “Knight Rider,” Daily Variety reports. Thompson also worked on “Las Vegas,” which NBC canceled after the Writers Guild of America strike, the newspaper says.
