CNN Vets Help Students Become Newscasters

Pelham Bay Public School 71 in the Bronx has launched a student-run news network to air in its classrooms, the New York Daily News reports. Preparatory Broadcast Network’s media center was born with the help of CNN/U.S. President Jonathan Klein and two CNN volunteers, Rob Frehse and Rob Fox, after Klein returned to his elementary school alma mater as a part of the “Principal for a Day” program, the newspaper says. The CNN veterans help the students as they study camera skills, interviewing, dubbing, editing and generating stories about school sports and events, the newspaper notes.
