Networks publicizing their shows to Emmy voters are cutting the fees they pay to the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences by replacing the DVDs they send out with a password-protected Web site, the New York Times reports. Some networks had been paying $1,500 per episode, or sometimes more than $100,000 to send out the so-called “screeners,” the newspaper says.
