Nets Still Barred from Non-Olympic Venues

Media outlets continued to face difficulties getting permission to broadcast from non-Olympic venues by Chinese officials as the summer games draw nearer, the Wall Street Journal reports. Since May state officials have denied requests and credentials seeking coverage for venues such as Tiananmen Square. The situation is particularly dicey for NBC, whose parent General Electric, has other business interests in China, the Journal reports.
