Chernin, Iger May Re-Enter SAG Talks

News Corp. COO Peter Chernin and Walt Disney Co. CEO Robert Iger may step back into the fray to break the negotiation logjam with the Screen Actors Guild, Daily Variety reports. The executives played a similar role in helping to end the Writers Guild of America strike earlier this year, Daily Variety says. Meanwhile, SAG members, including “Grey’s Anatomy” star Sandra Oh, have contributed their voices to an automated phone campaign asking dual SAG and AFTRA members to vote no on the proposed AFTRA deal with studios, the Hollywood Reporter says. SAG says that AFTRA’s deal does not provide enough protection for union members and is interfering with SAG’s current talks with producers, the Reporter says.
