ABC, CBS and NBC plan to have at least three hours of live, prime-time coverage of both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the New York Times reports. That is on par with their coverage four years ago, with the difference that this year is the first time they will broadcast in high definition, the newspaper says. Meanwhile, the cable news networks will offer even more coverage, with MSNBC planning 20 hours of live programming for each of the four days of the conventions, the newspaper notes.
