Actor Group Challenges SAG Leadership

Jul 24, 2008  •  Post A Comment

A group of 31 Screen Actors Guild members calling themselves Unite for Strength have announced they are running for seats on the union’s national governing board, Daily Variety reports. The actors, including Amy Brenneman, Doug Savant and Kate Walsh, favor combining with the other actors’ unition, AFTRA, and hopes to tap into dissatisfaction with the way Alan Rosenberg and his Membership First faction have been leading contract negotiations with the studios.

  1. Good for the Unite for Strength group! The actors’ unions should be united, and the present unproductive SAG leadership that is still trying to provoke a strike has to go.
By the way, once again I have to urge the writers of these items to use spell check and/or Preview.
There is NO excuse for spelling union “unition” as appears above.

  2. As I have written here before, Alan Rosenberg should go back to acting where his words are written for him.
Cudos to Amy Brenneman and her cohorts and success with their actions.
All of Hollywood needs to remain at work, period.

  3. I agree with Peter and “Judging Amy” 100% 🙂
