Larry Haines, who won two Emmy Awards as a cast member on long-running soap “Search for Tomorrow,” died in Delray Beach, Fla., at age 89, the Associated Press reports. Haines was a Broadway actor before his 35-year stint on “Search for Tomorrow,” the wire service says.

This is a sad week for me, losing two favorites, Larry Haines and Estelle Getty, who provided many years of entertainment to all of us. Surely there is a special reward awiting them in Heaven, or wherever.
