Media General’s broadcasting profits dipped 17% to $14.9 million for the second quarter, with broadcast revenues and advertising sales falling 5.7% and 5%, respectively, Media Daily News reports. Although national and local ad spot dollars were low, the company pointed out that its political advertising dollars increased to $2.8 million from $745,000 compared with the same period last year, the Web site says.
