English teacher Charles Van Doren is telling his side of the story regarding the “Twenty-One” quiz show controversy in this week’s New Yorker magazine, the New York Post reports. Van Doren claims he knew from the start that he would be fed the answers to questions by the show’s producers, who wanted to get rid of reigning champion Herb Stempel because viewers no longer liked him and ratings were declining, the newspaper says.
