The Screen Actors Guild is hoping to extend its agreement with advertisers and ad agencies for an additional six months after the current October 29 end date, the Hollywood Reporter says. SAG wants to work on the new deal with AFTRA, even though it has been feuding with the rival actors union during negotiations with the studios, the trade paper says. SAG national board members officially decided Saturday to pursue the extension with the Joint Policy Committee, the organization that represents advertisers, which is likely to agree to the request, according to the Reporter.
