TCA: McFarlane’s Grenade, ‘Sarah Connor,’ ‘Disturb’

Fox’s big day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour set up ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth McFarlane for a trademark tasteless joke, and hinted at the future of “Do Not Disturb” and “The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” TVWeek reports on its TCA blog. The Fox animation panel followed the Fox News Channel presentation, where former Bush chief of staff Karl Rove said his conservative credentials don’t compromise his role as an analyst. Right out of the gate, McFarlane, on his panel, asked the crowd, “Is there where Karl Rove sat? Cause I don’t want to get AIDS.” Collective groan… Also “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” executive producer Josh Friedman said the series’ episodes will be more self contained, TVWeek says. And “Do Not Disturb” executive producer Abraham Higginbotham defended his show from claims it stereotyped a gay character.
