ABC has made a pilot order for an updated TV version of the 1987 film “Witches of Eastwick,” based on the John Updike novel, Daily Variety reports. “Dawson’s Creek’s” Maggie Friedman has been tapped to write the pilot. Warner Bros. TV has previously attempted series inspired by the movie, including a 1992 pilot for NBC and a 2002 project for Fox, the trade says.
