News networks, which are suffering from flat ratings among young viewers, are trying to attract new, youthful voters to their election coverage after the primary-season ballots showed a rise in participation by people under the age of 30, the New York Times reports. CNN is promoting its “League of First Time Voters,” while Fox News Channel’s “The Y Factor” and NBC have assigned correspondents to cover youth issues, the newspaper says. ABC, CBS and PBS are also trying to lure young viewers by running stories from student journalists, the newspaper notes.
