A commercial by NBC Universal looking to promote both its coverage of the Olympics and the current film “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” is confusing to some viewers, the New York Times reports. NBC executives defend the spot. “I think that the Olympics were able to lend an air of quality and credibility to the film project,” said Adam Fogelson, president of marketing and distribution for Universal Pictures. “The imagery we were able to use in the spots adds sort of a cool, hip, fresh, young, relatable angle to the Olympic promos.”
