Anchors Still Expecting Debate

Sep 25, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Broadcast network news anchors Katie Couric, Brian Williams and Charles Gibson are still expecting a presidential debate to take place in Oxford, Miss., tomorrow tonight, TVNewser reports. Despite the congressional financial-institution bailout plan and Sen. John McCain’s request yesterday to delay the debate, anchors still have the same schedule as they did before that. Couric and Gibson will report from New York on Friday night while NBC’s Williams is making the trip to Mississippi. Williams also plans to interview Sens. McCain and Barack Obama during tonight’s broadcast from Washington. Couric will air the second part of her interview with Gov. Sarah Palin tonight.
