Candidates Buy Ads on Network News

Political advertisements are becoming more prevalent during the network evening newscasts, the Associated Press reports. The practice used to be rare, with both networks and candidates considering political pitches not “appropriate for the evening news,” the AP says. However, ad buyers today are hoping to appeal to the over 20 million viewers who regularly watch evening news shows on ABC, CBS and NBC.
